FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 29, 2014 - Lesley Visser, ASA Advisory Board Member and a pioneer in women's sportscasting, is set to make her debut on the CBS Sports Network's “We Need to Talk,” the first-ever all-female national sports talk show.
The hour-long weekly series, featuring a rotating group of female panelists discussing all the hot topics and the latest news from across the sports landscape, will premiere on September 30 at 10pm et.
Visser, who was voted by the ASA as the "Top Female Sportscaster of All-Time," will be a key member of the panel. As a trailblazer for women in the industry and a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in her 40th year covering sports, Visser couldn’t be more excited for a platform such as this.
"I am so grateful to CBS for this opportunity,” Visser said. “When I started in 1974, the credentials often said, 'No Women in the Press Box.’ To go from there to here in four decades, a show filled with smart, passionate women; produced and directed by women, and in Prime Time - don't wake me now!"
Also on the panel is ASA member Dana Jacobson. The veteran sportscaster spent 10 years at ESPN before moving to CBS Sports Radio as the co-host of “The Morning Show” with Tiki Barber and Brandon Tierney. She will be joined by Tracy Wolfson, lead reporter for CBS’s NFL and NCAA Tournament coverage; Allie LaForce, lead reporter for the “SEC on CBS” and Amy Trask, CBS Sports Network contributor.
“We Need To Talk” will also feature high-profile contributors including the NFL Network’s Chief Correspondent Andrea Kremer, WNBA champions Lisa Leslie and Swin Cash, Olympic medal-winning swimmers Dara Torres and Summer Sanders, and former boxing world champion Laila Ali.
